Fitting Your SleepPro Contour

Please read all steps before you begin. Fitting takes about 10 minutes.

What you'll need:

  • A bowl of freshly boiled water

  • A bowl of cold water

  • A mirror

How to mould and fit your Contour MAD

Attach the fitting handle

Secure the fitting handle to the lower tray, then fit the upper tray, hooking the studs into the holes on the handle.

Don't force the handle straight down onto the studs as this can damage them.

Soften the gel (3 minutes)

Immerse the mouthpiece in freshly boiled water for 3 minutes, or until the gel lining turns soft. Remove and shake off any excess water.

Before it goes anywhere near your mouth, hold it against the back of your hand to check it isn't too hot.

Position it in your mouth

Place the tray over your top teeth first, front teeth as close to the front edge as possible, keeping the raised central line centred between your two front teeth.

Push your lower jaw forward slightly so your lower teeth bite into the middle of the gel.

Bite down hard (30–40 seconds)

Bite down firmly so your teeth sink into the soft gel and make contact with the hard shell underneath. If gel squeezes out to one side, push it back into place with a wet finger.

Hold for 30–40 seconds to let the gel cool, then carefully remove and briefly rinse in cold water to set the shape.

Set the shape (2 minutes)

Once you're happy with the fit, cool the mouthpiece in cold water for 2 minutes.

Remove the fitting handle and keep it somewhere safe, you'll need it again if you ever want to remould the mouthpiece.

Attach your tension straps

Attach a matched pair of straps, hooking them onto the studs rather than forcing them straight down. Fit the lower tray first, then the upper.

It’s best to start with the middle-length pair as these suit most people. If it doesn't reduce your snoring, move to the next shorter pair. If the first setting feels too far forward, try a longer pair instead. It can take a few nights of trial and error to find the setting that works for you.
