CPAP Terms and Conditions

CPAP returns policy

We are unfortunately unable to accept returns for CPAP devices that have been opened. If the device is unused and still in its unopened box, we are able to process a return. The item must be sent back to us at your expense.

We advise that you return the device using tracked delivery with insurance, as the return is your responsibility.

The refund will be minus a £120 processing fee, which covers the initial set-up appointment and reprogramming the device from your client profile.

You may cancel a CPAP order before the set-up appointment has been carried out. The refund will be minus a £30 processing fee to cover the device reprogramming.

CPAP data access and follow-up

The Sefam Nea CPAP machine includes a modem that collects treatment data, including CPAP usage, mask leak and indicators of obstructive sleep apnoea control.

This data is automatically transmitted to the secure, password-protected Sefam Connect platform, where it can be reviewed by The Better Sleep Clinic clinical team as part of your CPAP follow-up and ongoing care.

The purchase of a Sefam Nea CPAP machine includes 12 months of remote data access. After this period, further remote data access can be purchased for approximately £30 per year. Alternatively, you may send the SD card from your CPAP machine to The Better Sleep Clinic so that the data can be downloaded manually.

Our clinical team may access your CPAP data during your follow-up period and may contact you if we identify any concerns. However, your data is not continuously monitored in real time. It remains your responsibility to contact us if you are experiencing problems with your CPAP treatment, mask fit, symptoms, side effects or equipment.

CPAP usage data may be included in clinical correspondence, including letters sent to your GP following a follow-up consultation.

DVLA requirements

If you notify the DVLA of a diagnosis of obstructive sleep apnoea or obstructive sleep apnoea syndrome, the DVLA may contact your clinician to request confirmation of your fitness to drive.

This may include confirmation that your sleepiness has improved and that CPAP is being used regularly. Where required, CPAP usage data may be accessed and used for this purpose.

Government guidance states that drivers must tell the DVLA about obstructive sleep apnea syndrome, or any sleep condition causing excessive sleepiness, and must not drive until symptoms are controlled and any necessary treatment is being followed. For more information, read our article on sleep apnea and driving.

Data sharing and privacy

By purchasing a Sefam Nea CPAP machine, you consent to The Better Sleep Clinic sharing the necessary personal details with Sefam and/or its authorised fulfilment partners for the purpose of dispatching your CPAP machine and associated equipment.

This may include your name, delivery address and telephone number.

Your CPAP treatment and usage data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
